    Land Tour begins June 18, 2022


    Ireland, the land of four leaf clovers, home to Guinness & Irish Whiskey, the River Dance, Irish Stew, breathtaking landscapes, world class golf courses, tweed and Aran knits, but most of all the home of Irish hospitality.  We are so pleased to be heading to this stunning destination in June 2022.  This exclusive custom tour designed for Plan A Vacation is fully escorted by both the owners of Plan A Vacation and our partners in Destination.  Exploring safely via our private coach with driver/tour guide, we will start in Dublin and explore throughout the week stays in Killarney and Galway.

    We will also be available to provide options for any pre and post stay requirements you may wish or maybe a hop on over to Scotland or the UK can be added to your adventure in Ireland.

    Day 1

    You will be met on arrival by your friendly local driver who will transport you to Dublin via the scenic coastal

    route. You will undertake a panoramic tour of the city before checking into your hotel with the remainder of

    the day at leisure so you may refresh and relax after your trans-Atlantic flight from Toronto.

    Day 2

    After breakfast, you can validate your 48-hour Hop On/Hop Off sightseeing ticket of Dublin. Live guides will

    entertain you during your tour around the city where you can hop on and hop off at Dublin’s famous sights

    and attractions. You may wish to tour Guinness, the home of the ‘black stuff’, visit the library at Trinity College

    to view The Book of Kells, or learn what life was like for prisoners at Kilmainham Gaol, where leaders of the

    rebellions were detained and, in some cases, executed. This evening you may wish to check out the lively

    Temple Bar area and its abundance of pubs with live music and good ‘craic’ (fun).

    Day 3

    Today is another to free day to explore Dublin. Places of interest include Phoenix Park, Glasnevin Cemetery or

    EPIC, an interactive museum that focuses on Irish emigrants and their contributions to the world. Here, you

    can also consult with a genealogist to unearth your own family history. Dublin is a great city for dining, where

    you can not only indulge in traditional Irish fayre, but also choose from a great selection of fine dining

    restaurants and bistros that feature cuisines from around the world.

    Day 4

    This morning we depart Dublin and travel through Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands to Galway. Enroute we will

    stop in the Viking town of Athlone and visit Ireland’s oldest pub, Sean’s Bar. Considered to be the birthplace of

    Irish whiskey, your hosts will regale you with historic tales of the pub as you enjoy a taste of Sean’s own blend.

    Afterwards, we will undertake an informative walking tour of Galway led by a local specialist before checking

    in to our hotel. Spanish Arch is a well-known area of town that is famous for its abundance of pubs, where

    there is sure to be a traditional Irish music session on any given night of the week. Be sure venture out for a

    night on the town while you are here!

    Day 5

    Today we traverse the lunar landscaped terrain of the Burren region of Clare, an area rich in Irish culture and

    geology to the village of Doolin where we will embark on a cruise on the Atlantic Ocean to view the mighty

    Cliffs of Moher. Our travels then take us south to Limerick where we take a panoramic tour of the city that will

    feature St. John’s Castle and St. Mary’s Cathedral. We continue to our home for the next 2 nights, Killarney.

    Day 6

    This morning we begin our drive along the scenic Ring of Kerry Road. Our journey will take us to the edge of

    Ireland passing through quaint towns and villages, including Moll’s Gap, a mountain pass that offers

    breathtaking views of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains. We will visit Kissane Sheep Farm for an

    entertaining display of sheepdogs hard at work. This evening we will meet local jarvies and take a jaunting car

    ride through the town to Quill’s Farmhouse, where we will enjoy a traditional Irish farmhouse dinner while

    being entertained by a duet of local musicians.

    Day 7

    Our first stop today is the village of Blarney, where you can shop for handcrafts, or for those who are feeling

    energetic, climb the 127 steps of Blarney Castle for the opportunity to kiss the ‘stone of eloquence’ (paid

    locally). Then we take a leisurely drive through the Golden Vale with a stop in the village of Cahir before

    reaching The Castleknock Hotel and Country Club. Tonight, we will enjoy a farewell dinner complete with

    some rousing Irish entertainment at the Merry Ploughboy.

    Day 8

    Sadly, all good things must come to an end. A group transfer will take you to Dublin Airport for your flight

    home.
